Pernille’s practice moves between space(s) and body, grounded in sensory experience and shaped by a neurodivergent perspective.
Increasingly, her work investigates membranes not only as boundaries, but as active, permeable bridges: points of interchange and transition within us, our surroundings and throughout nature.
Working across disciplines and allowing each project to develop in response to experience, she explores how we are influenced by the lingering pressures of our surroundings: how energy, attention and feeling pass between inner and outer worlds, and how these exchanges affect both us and the environments we inhabit. Her research focuses on spatial agency, also described as ‘self-space’, translating perceptual experiences of shared spaces in education, work and nature through peripheral sensory experiences, movement, and the glances, glimmers and small shifts that often go unseen.

By resisting fixed definitions and allowing projects to unfold slowly, she makes room for deeper attention, change and new relationships between bodies, materials and place.
Her works are held in both public and private collections in the UK, Denmark, Canada and Austria.
