Pernille’s practice sits between place and system, in the realm of sensory experience, running a Neurodivergent sensory based arts practice. Harvesting from interactions with both internal and external space(s). Resisting over definition in order to gain space and movement. Her practice has elongated significantly over the last number of years, adopting a different pace, gaining richer insights, moving more intensely in to research mode. Various threads of research growing in to streams which currently centre upon the concept, of what Pernille terms, ‘self-space’. Translating the experience of shared space(s) per education and work environments from a neurodivergent perspective. Researching the pressures which surround us - attempting to translate the peripheral visceral feelings and their affects/effects experienced on a day to day basis.
Working project to project, on a multi-discipline basis. Investigating peripheral gaze, movement and the glances and glimmers of life, those facets which often go unseen.
'Ask most people and they will state we have 5 senses. Ask a Neuroscientist how many senses we have they will say we have 22 or more'. PF
Her works are held in both public and private collections in the UK, Denmark, Canada and Austria.
