Artist Statement

Pernille is an international artist, working project to project, on a multi-discipline basis. Primarily investigating peripheral gaze, movement and the glances and glimmers of life, those facets which often go unseen.

While studying Pernille’s interests focused upon the mechanics of movement, peripheral view, implied stasis and the play between them.

Since successfully completing an MFA in 2014 her focus has moved to centre more upon the forces we encounter; those that imply forms of movement, but which aren’t necessarily visible; such as the tangible pressures and forces we feel in our daily lives. Her current research is enforcing these streams of interest and is focused upon Mindfulness, Eastern Aesthetics, the Slow Movement and the Neurosciences.

Her works are held in both public and private collections in the UK, Denmark, Canada and Austria.
